Karen Pe’er is a multidisciplinary artist whose work is deeply rooted in her cultural heritage and experiences as a member of the diaspora. Drawing inspiration from her unique journey as a mixed Polish and Yemenite Jew raised in rural Manitoba, Pe’er explores the intricate facets of identity through her expressive figurative pieces. Utilizing collage techniques, she incorporates a rich array of textures and materials, including fabrics and gemstones, to create compelling narratives that reflect her lived experiences.

Karen discovered monoprinting as a form of healing, a unique way of reverse painting leaving the final image to the unknown. It is in mono-printing where she can let it all go, have fun, and create pieces that she hopes can bring joy and inspiration to homes all across Canada.

When she isn’t in the studio or juggling mom life, you can find her showing her monoprints at various art markets across the Greater Toronto Area.

Having lived in dynamic cities across Canada and Israel, Karen's artistic journey is fueled by her desire to break down walls and challenge stereotypes. Through her art, she aims to share her story and convey the truth of her existence, inviting viewers to reflect on their own identities in the process.
